En net voor die website doet X2O beroep op het team van PHPro. X2O heeft een uitgebreide IT-afdeling, dus zij wensten gebruik te maken van PHPro consultants op locatie in plaats van te kiezen voor projectwerking. Er werd gekozen voor 4 consultants, namelijk een functionele analist, een technisch architect, een back-end developer en een front-end developer.
X2O is a Belgian retail chain specializing in bathrooms and bathroom furniture.
The company offers a wide range of products, including showers, bathtubs, toilets, bathroom furniture, mirrors, and accessories. X2O is known for its customer-centric approach, aiming to combine quality, style, and affordability. X2O caters to both individuals and professionals in the construction and renovation sectors. Their stores can be found at various locations in Belgium and the Netherlands, and they also offer online shopping options via their website.
And for that website, X2O enlisted the expertise of the PHPro team. X2O has a large IT department, so they wanted to take advantage of PHPro consultants on-site, rather than opting for project-based work. Four consultants were chosen: a functional analyst, a technical architect, a back-end developer, and a front-end developer.

A platform without licensing fees? PWA and Open Source!
X2O was looking for a platform without licensing costs, so more budget would be available for development. After thoroughly analyzing the possibilities of Magento and Shopware, the decision was made to go with Magento Open Source. To stay up-to-date with the latest e-commerce trends, X2O decided to invest directly in Magento PWA Studio.
A PWA (Progressive Web App) combines the look and user experience of native mobile apps with the power of modern web technologies. For X2O, this meant a React-based front-end, with the choice of the Venia theme, supported by GraphQL for communication between Magento and PWA Studio.
Akeneo, Tilroy and more – The impact of smart integrations!
As with all our clients, integrations played a crucial role in this project. One of the most important was the connection with Akeneo as the PIM (Product Information Management) system, which helps businesses centralize, manage, and enrich product data. Akeneo enables companies to manage product information more efficiently and deliver consistent, accurate, and rich data across various channels.
Additionally, an integration was made with Tilroy, a cloud-based point-of-sale (POS) system and retail management software designed specifically for stores and chains. Tilroy offers a comprehensive all-in-one solution with features like point-of-sale, inventory management, customer management, and e-commerce integration.
Finally, integrations were set up with Custobar for transactional emails, Cloudimage as the CDN solution, and Tweakwise for advanced search and filtering functionalities. This combination of tools and systems provided a robust and efficient infrastructure that seamlessly met the client's needs.
International E-commerce with Customization for X2O
X2O bedient klanten in België, Nederland, Frankrijk en Duitsland, wat vroeg om meerdere websites en specifieke store views voor Belgische klanten in het Nederlands en Frans. Na de lancering van de webshop voor particuliere klanten, bleef X2O investeren in maatwerk, waaronder de ontwikkeling van aparte functionaliteiten voor hun vertegenwoordigers!
X2O serves customers in Belgium, the Netherlands, France, and Germany, which required multiple websites and specific store views for Belgian customers in both Dutch and French. After the launch of the webshop for individual customers, X2O continued to invest in customization, including the development of separate functionalities for their sales representatives!
