They offer a wide range of products for camping, caravanning and outdoor activities, such as tents, awnings, camping furniture and various accessories. Obelink is known for its extensive range, competitive prices and excellent customer service.

Customer Challenge
Obelink, a leading retailer in camping and outdoor equipment, had a clear objective: "We want to improve our online presence and increase the speed of our website." A robust online platform was already in place, yet there was still quite some margin in terms of website speed and optimisation. A company like Obelink needs constant improvements that keep up with changes in the market that not only boost sales but also reflect their expertise and professionalism in the camping and outdoor equipment industry.
Our mission was threefold:
- Optimising online presence and sales: We wanted to ensure that Obelink's website was not only faster, but also performed better in terms of usability and conversion
- Implementing new design provided by Obelink: The new design had to reflect Obelink's professionalism and expertise.
- Offering a seamless and comprehensive customer portal: Customers needed to have a seamless and enjoyable shopping experience, without requiring extra effort from staff.



The Digitisation Process
Obelink offers a wide range of camping and outdoor products. Under the motto of continuous improvement, they wanted to improve the performance and user experience of their website. The goal was to switch from the Magento Luma theme to the Hyva theme, starting with the Homepage, followed by the Product Detail Page (PDP) and Product Listing Page (PLP).

Implementation
We started by implementing the new design of the Homepage, making sure it was visually appealing and faster to load. We then focused on the PDP and PLP, which we optimised for better performance and user experience. The main goal was to make the website faster so that customers have a seamless shopping experience. For the implementation, we were able to use Hyva UI Components as well as custom-made components. Hyva UI Components are a collection of pre-built, ready-to-use components designed specifically for use with Hyva Themes. These components are designed to accelerate and simplify the development of Hyva themes.



Results
The transition to the Hyva theme significantly improved the website's speed and performance. Customers now enjoy a faster, more responsive website, improving their overall shopping experience

Conclusion
To improve the performance of an online shop, there are many factors that have some influence. Thus, we have analysed and optimised both server and hosting, caching, file optimisation, code efficiency and external scripts. Taking a thorough look at all of these can help work towards a better end result, and implementing the Hyva theme was certainly one of them.
In addition to implementing this new theme, our Obelink team at PHPro has also made sure that the DOM-size has become a lot smaller, and that there are less unnecessary external scripts being loaded, or that are loaded at later moments if they are not crucial during the loading of the page
