inMusic Brands is a collection of a number of audio product brands including DJ equipment, music production equipment, live music supplies, musical instruments, pro audio, software, stage lighting and consumer electronics. InMusic was founded in 1992 by Jack O'Donnell and now consists of 20 different brands, including Stanton, Akai Professional, Headrush and Alesis.

A centralized customer experience and efficient data management for InMusic Brands

The project with inMusic Brands presented PHPro with several exciting challenges. First, an audit of the existing Magento installation revealed that it was severely outdated. To ensure stability and functionality, it was decided to upgrade Magento to the latest version. In addition, the complexity was increased by the structure of inMusic, which consists of several sub-brands, many of whose websites were running on Magento, but without an integrated webshop.

 

Another challenge was the optimization and centralization of customer accounts. With over 1.4 million customers spread across the different sub-brands, there was a need for a centralized CRM system. The customer information was exported to this new system, with the aim of both improving ease of use for customers and optimizing internal data management processes.

Efficient cooperation across borders

The collaboration between PHPro and inMusic Brands was characterized by a pragmatic approach that took into account the unique challenges of a global brand. With offices across Canada, Germany, the United Kingdom, Taiwan, Japan, Bulgaria, New Zealand and the United States, the project ran entirely online. The different time zones and a large number of stakeholders - sometimes as many as 10 to 12 participants per workshop - required an efficient and constructive working method!

 

In addition, the tight timing required an agile approach. The team focused on critical priorities and made sure the most important parts were picked up first. The use of new technologies, such as the React App for personalized user interfaces, gave the project an innovative dimension. This was made possible by regular coordination: twice a week all parties involved discussed progress, allowing for quick decisions and adjustments.

 

The implementation of the CRM system within Magento underlined the need to make the right choices at crucial moments. Thanks to the clear focus and effective cooperation, PHPro managed to make this challenging project a success within the set timelines.

The result is already impressive! The ease of use for the customer has been significantly improved. Customers can now easily register, log in products and look up manuals via a clear interface. These improvements have significantly eased the pressure on Customer Service, leaving more room for targeted support.

 

In addition, the centralization of customer data in a new CRM system has enabled inMusic Brands to communicate more targeted promotions and actions to their customers. This opens up new opportunities for customer interaction and strengthens loyalty.

 

The close cooperation and mutual trust between inMusic Brands and PHPro have led to a great result, where usability and efficiency go hand in hand.
