Internship: Progressive Web App development

Progressive Web Apps (PWA's) are web applications that load like regular websites but offer user functionalities such as offline working, push notifications, and access to device hardware, which are traditionally only available to native mobile applications. PWAs are an emerging technology that combines open web standards to provide a rich mobile experience. Slowly but surely, PWAs are increasingly mentioned in the same breath as web development. The concept of “headless” is also increasingly cited as a technique for the future.

What will you do?

PHPro has an extensive client portfolio and focuses on larger companies in the Belgian and Dutch markets. For several of our clients, we already use PWA techniques. For one of our clients, we are using a headless solution with a React frontend. In this internship, it is your task to work with the current development team to take the frontend to "the next PWA level."

 

You will analyze the current application and the future needs of the client, such as:

 

  • Offline usage (which strategy to apply where)
  • Push notifications
  • Performance & user experience

 

You will use existing PWA libraries for this. One of our experts will guide you, and training will be provided.
